Welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Ian. I'm a first year undergraduate student studying Geology and Geophysics at Imperial College London, and I’m part of an expedition team organised by Choose a Challenge, a provider of travel-for-a-cause adventures (see their link here: https://www.chooseachallenge.com/). Our goal is to trek from Lukla to the base camp of the world's tallest mountain - Everest. The trek lasts for 2 weeks, and the base camp itself is 5380m above sea level, so this is no easy task. And as you can see. I’ve set myself an ambitious fundraising target of £2000 by next summer!
You might ask why would I do this to myself? Well, climbing Everest is actually in my bucket list, so I guess going to its base camp gives it half a tick (more like a quarter). But more importantly, this is to support the brilliant charity, Hope for Children. It provides aid to children living in poverty through education, healthcare, supporting their families, and developing their self-confidence and self-esteem. Its goal is to give every children a memorable, healthy, joyous childhood, and above all, hope. Having seen the impact they have had on children of all ages around the world, I’m shocked that such a small charity can help so many, yet very few has ever heard of it. I’m determined to help them by raising awareness of their meaningful work and give them the necessary funding they need to continue doing this. If you don't take my word for it, check out the work they've done and the lives they've changed on their website here!
This is for a great cause, so please do give generously. Any donation, no matter big or small, would be greatly appreciated. Even by merely spreading the word of Hope for Children have a massive impact.
Rewind and think about your childhood: watching Disney movies, receiving a present at Christmas, having a vacation with your family... Every child deserves a happy childhood like that! Donate, spread the word, and give out hope!
Thank you very much for your support!
